Barque

a boat-booking system developed before launch

I find the per-vessel rules compelling: price, minimum duration and a live calendar must form one booking decision, even before public launch.

The challenge

The client offered boat rentals and sightseeing trips in Saint Petersburg. It wanted a dedicated booking service connected to its existing resources and the Google Calendars used for each vessel's schedule. The booking journey needed configurable duration and pricing rather than one fixed rental option.

The approach

Discovery and requirements gathering led to the architecture and technical specification. The delivery also included interface design, a Nuxt frontend and a Laravel backend with a Filament administration panel and API. Each boat could have its own calendar, hourly price, minimum rental duration and duration increment. Google Calendar synchronization connected availability to the booking flow; Bitrix24 received inquiries from the service.

The project, in detail

The images show the interface and its context. Captions distinguish project archives from current-site views.

From discovery to a booking application

Requirements gathering led to a technical specification and an interface design for the service. A Nuxt frontend used the API of a Laravel backend with Filament administration, linking booking choices to vessel data.

A calendar and rules for each boat

Administrators could connect a Google account and assign a calendar identifier, hourly price, minimum rental period and duration increment to each vessel. Google Calendar supplied synchronized availability; Bitrix24 received enquiries.

The recorded delivery boundary

The application was developed, but the later project register says it did not proceed to a public launch. The case presents the implemented booking system without implying a live consumer service or measured adoption.
