Network Analytics
indoor mobile signal surveys
For Network Analytics, I kept every signal reading tied to its location. A chart alone would have lost the planning context.

The challenge
UCtel engineers needed to compare mobile reception across operators before designing indoor coverage. Their existing tools separated data collection from analysis, leaving staff to reconcile measurements manually.
The approach
The delivery combined an Android survey application with a Laravel and Vue.js dashboard. Customers, buildings, floors and surveys form a shared hierarchy, so a measurement stays attached to the place where it was taken.
The project, in detail
The images show the interface and its context. Captions distinguish project archives from current-site views.
Native access where it matters
React Native handles the application interface; Kotlin supplies Android-specific signal collection. Custom measurement and speed-test logic covers requirements that ready-made libraries could not satisfy.
Several phones, one survey
Bluetooth connects additional handsets to a primary device. Engineers mark points on a floor plan and collect readings from the connected devices, adding location notes and photographs when needed.
From measurements to placement decisions
Interactive floor plans compare operator readings point by point. Testing used physical Android devices because emulators cannot reproduce radio reception or the real behaviour of a multi-device Bluetooth survey.
The outcome
A connected workflow for collecting, locating and reviewing indoor mobile signal data.
Details of Network Analytics
How were readings tied to their location?
The Android survey app attached each measurement to a customer, building, floor and survey. Bluetooth connected additional phones, and the Laravel and Vue.js dashboard showed readings on floor plans.
Why were physical Android devices used in testing?
An emulator cannot reproduce radio reception or the behaviour of a Bluetooth survey with several phones.
