The challenge

Buying renovation materials involves more than choosing a photograph. Focusplus needed to communicate dimensions, colours, materials and other specifications while allowing customers to narrow a large assortment. The project started from a theme selected by the client.

The approach

I worked on the existing WordPress and WooCommerce store, adapting the client’s chosen theme and building custom product functionality. The work covered filters, individual product attributes, responsive pages and order communication.

The images show the interface and its context. Captions distinguish project archives from current-site views.

Find the right material

I worked on filters for price, quantity and product characteristics. Tiles and bathroom equipment need different selection criteria, so the catalogue has to work with the information customers actually use when choosing materials.

Product details before the order

I developed the product-card functionality to show the parameters needed for each item. Dimensions, material, colour and other specifications belong beside the product rather than in a generic description shared by everything in the shop.

Keep the detail after checkout

I worked on the confirmation email so it could include the purchased items and characteristics, delivery information and total. My role was development and support of the store, not the manufacture or photography of its products.

Details of FocusPlus, WooCommerce for building materials

What made the product filters useful for building materials?

They reflected buying decisions such as size, finish, colour and technical properties. The order email carried the selected characteristics into the post-purchase record.
