Somindram
an Indian film catalogue and rating platform
I treat a film rating as more than one number: story, performances and music deserve their own room when a viewer wants it.

The challenge
The founder wanted a catalogue dedicated to Indian cinema that could serve casual viewers and committed critics alike. A single star rating could not express the different roles of story, performance and music.
The approach
The scope covered design and development of a Laravel platform connecting films, performers, songs and user contributions. Its rating modes let users choose how much detail to provide rather than forcing every review into the same format.
The project, in detail
The images show the interface and its context. Captions distinguish project archives from current-site views.
More than one rating scale
A viewer can leave an overall score, use simple reactions or assess individual aspects of a film. Before release, a separate prediction flow distinguishes expectations from post-release reviews.
A connected catalogue
Scheduled importers collect film, performer and soundtrack information. Administrators retain manual editing, while linked pages connect a film to its cast and musical works without treating every entry as isolated content.
Contributions with a visible process
Contributor roles allow proposed text or image changes, with community voting on suggestions. Comments and reviews are grouped by film, and the initial demo supplied feedback for further product revisions.
The outcome
A working demo combining structured film data, community contributions and several review formats.
