Air-quality readings for a cycling route near Bangkok.
I connected local sensor readings to a WordPress widget for public screens.

The challenge
Environmental readings are useful only when people can understand where they apply and how current they are. This project needed to turn IQAir data into a clear display for television screens in the area around Suvarnabhumi Airport, rather than a conventional website visitors actively browse.
The approach
I built a WordPress widget connected to the IQAir API. It shows local air-quality and weather readings from sensors along the cycling route around Suvarnabhumi Airport. AJAX updates the display without reloading the page. The images below are original project materials from 2023, not current measurements.
The project, in detail
The images show the interface and its context. Captions distinguish project archives from current-site views.
Readings for the right location
I connected the display to the relevant sensor locations. People can switch between the bike centre and rest areas, with the selected location kept visible alongside the air-quality index.
Update the data without restarting the screen
I used AJAX to refresh the readings without a full page reload. PM2.5, PM10, wind and temperature sit beside the location selector, with an update time so viewers can see when the data was recorded.
A widget that works beyond one screen
I adapted the interface for large televisions with low pixel density and made it embeddable on a web page. The original web capture also shows the client’s camera tile for context; my work here was the air-quality widget.
The outcome
Connected air-quality and weather display
Responsive presentation for televisions and other screens

What was connected in this work?
The public-screen widget put location and current air-quality conditions ahead of dense dashboard controls.
